LMS 'Crab' on arrival at Llandudno Junction with an SLS railtour from Birmingham (Snow Hill) on 27 March 1966. 42727 was turned at the shed for the journey back.
42727 was a Birkenhead locomotive at this time, being withdrawn early in 1967 and cut at Cashmore's Newport yard in the June.

According to the photographer's notes, this Cravens DMU at Nottingham Arkwright Street is forming the last southbound service over the GC, which then terminated at Rugby, on 3 May 1969.
A few enthusiasts appear to be about, including one with a cine camera on the train itself. No wreaths or a headboard are in evidence, however. Were they added later, or on the northbound run, which I assume was the very last?
The station was demolished in 1975, with no trace now remaining.

This BC&W 3-car DMU is calling at Syston on the last day of local trains between Leicester and Nottingham on 3 March 1968. Syston would re-open in 1994, but without the station buildings, which were re-erected at Butterley.

When the 3ft gauge Tralee & Dingle Railway closed in 1959, Hunslet 2.6.2T no.5T went to the USA, to be exhibited at the Steamtown Museum, in Vermont. It returned to Tralee in 1988, to later run on a restored section of the line, although was later dismantled for complete restoration.
5T is seen at Steamtown before repatriation, during 1980.
