Lincoln City Transport Bristol VR 24 heads along Broadgate and away from the Cathedral in June 1988. 24 passed to Luton & District in 1992 only to be withdrawn and scrapped the following year.

Heading down from the mother-in-law's to catch the bus into town, it was quite a shock to find an open-top 'Queen Mary' instead of the usual Fleetline. Quite why Cleveland Transit had such a bus is a mystery, although it's use as a driver trainer was more likely than a sea-front service in Seaton Carew. It was probably a useful private hire vehicle too

Nevertheless, here is CT 500, formerly Southdown 417, about to leave Hardwick for a breezy jaunt along Durham Road into Stockton in August 1994. I believe that it was sold into preservation following the takeover of Cleveland Transit by Stagecoach.

When Stagecoach acquired Cleveland Transit in 1994, it was inevitable that the stripes would soon appear. I suspect that by August 1996, that they would be in the majority. Old and new are represented here by Dennis Dominators 208 and 216, waiting near Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium for homeward-bound football fans from what was probably a pre-season friendly. The Bristol VRs lined up in the background are from the Compass Royston fleet.

1988 saw a number of vehicles received on loan by Luton & District Transport. Included was West Midlands Travel MCW Metrobus 2938, demonstrated during the February, whose coach seating was no doubt appreciated on the long 37 from Dunstable to Luton via Houghton Regis. The location is High Street North, Dunstable. No orders for the type were forthcoming.

Withdrawn WMPTE Daimler Fleetlines, dumped in Adderley Street yard, Birmingham, in August 1984. Prominent is 5545, formerly London Transport DMS1323, which had seen service with the PTE for the previous four years. All that remains is that one-way trip to Barnsley.
