Last night on Creative Live I watched a segment of "Color for Designers: Exploration, Theory, & Application, Richard Mehl" in which they took random found items and created a color circle. I decided that I wanted to create one myself so when I got up this morning I really paid attention to color and noticed that I had my rainbow just in my bathroom.
I have way too many critiques about my capture and composition but I really enjoyed the exercise in working with color. This is an area I am going to explore further so expect more color to fill my photostream for the next bit as I work this out of my system.

Today I found color in my spice cabinet. My room smells interesting, sweet and savory. Now I have to return these to their respective bottles.

Some days I spend entirely too much time creating a photo only to be a bit disappointed in the results. My grandmother was a wonderful seamstress and I inherited some of her sewing notions after she passed away. This is a selection of zippers rolled up in rose-like shapes. I secured them in place with paperclips. My process sped up after I made a bunch. The zippers were all of various lengths so the flowers vary in size. This was another exercise in color.

I took inspiration from flic.kr/p/DeeFDZ. Somehow I can never do a normal self portrait, maybe that should be a goal to get one good head shot this year.

This morning was very cold and it had been snowing so I was working on a still life with a pear. I looked out the window and saw the clouds had cleared some and the sun was starting to peek out so I abandoned my still life and ran out to capture the sunrise.
We have had a lot of snow this winter as evidenced by the enormous pile shoveled off the driveway next to the fence.
One 1/10th of the way through the year already today. Wow, it's going fast!!
Happy Fence Friday to you!
