This is a low quality jpg, I normally shoot raw but forgot to check my camera settings, lesson learned. I noticed this leaf on my lawn this morning and started taking a few shots when by luck a fly landed on it and hung out for a few precious seconds. Love this being in the moment image.

Another CreativeLive photo challenge, this time it is all about capturing sunstars. Now what I discovered when doing this challenge is that I really need to clean my camera sensor because I have a lot of sensor dust. I've never done it and am afraid I'll ruin it so I keep putting it off.

My light-painted light vanilla swirl image was highlighted on CreativeLive's instagram account yesterday, fun!

I went for another sunrise walk around my neighborhood armed with my camera and macro lens. It is still a struggle for me to walk around with my camera, I am very self-conscious and don't want to make people uncomfortable or suspicious. I put those feelings aside this morning and was able to experience openness.

Open for the moment to feel the warming rays of the sun, breathe in the moist air and look and listen to the world around me. These leaves called out to me and I answered. The light was penetrative and hypnotizing and I for a few moments was entranced. Deeply in the moment I was trying to carefully capture all that I was experiencing, light, color, intensity and then it abruptly ended because the sprinklers under the tree went off.

Grateful to have had my moment today. With daily practice, I'm learning to listen and see the beauty of the world around me.
