This is Bertie, my friend's new Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. I had the privilege of meeting Bertie today, just 2 days after he arrived in his new home...as you can see, he is adorable. Having lost our old boy just after Christmas, I am feeling rather broody!

For April 2015: A month in 30 pictures.

St. Albans register office, in Hertfordshire, is the former gatehouse of a Victorian prison. The frontage was used as the fictitious H.M. Prison Slade in Cumberland, for the 1970's tv series porridge.

I decided to give it a vintage feel. I really must learn how to clone an interesting sky into a photo.

For April 2015: A month in 30 pictures

This is another photo I decided to recreate (more or less.) I originally took this, and the previous photo (on my photostream), a year ago and have long felt I could get the background whiter and the colours brighter. I may have gone a bit too bright so the purple looks more violet or magenta but overall I am much more pleased with it. I will post the original in comments.

Sorry to go overboard with the purple today...using it for two challenges.
