One of the fabulous cars built during the 1920-1940 period by the Cord-Auburn-Duesenberg combine. This 851 Speedster, built between 1935-1936 was a showroom special intended to bring in more customers following the unsuccessful retooling of the 1934 series. The Speedster used a particularly narrow body developed for a prototype V12 Roadster that did not make production.

The Auburn was not as technologically advanced as its fellow flagships, the Cord 810/812 and Duesenberg SJ, however it still cut a fine style.

Unfortunately, as beautiful as these cars were, they were unable to provide a long term solid financial footing for C-A-D and the company never recovered form after the War.

This model has been created for LUGNuts May 2010 Challenge 'Kickin' it Oldschool' - celebrating car built prior to 1950.
