With two little girls in our house we hear a lot about Barbie. One of the favorite Barbie movies is 'Barbie a Mermaid Tale'. In the movie, Barbie's character is a surfer who is really a Mermaid.
Confused?
This 1955 Buick Century Convertible has been built for Flickr LUGNuts 4th anniversary challenge to the themes - 'Two of a Kind', for the matching Buick and surfboard, and, 'For the Ladies', with a Lego miniland Barbie as the surfer-chick.
The Buick is a 1955 Century model, sharing the shorter of the two wheelbase chassis available during this model year, but fitted with the higher output Vee-eight shared with the Roadmaster.
Buicks from this period had some of the best styling, and most coordinated two and three tone paint jobs. Shown here in sand green over white lego (with earth green and white two-tone interior) representing one of the stylish combinations available (willow green over white). The challenge requires a second transportation device in the same colour scheme, and this is provided by surfer-Barbie's matching three colour longboard.
It can be seen that the combination of longboard and classic convertible proves somewhat troublesome for transporting the board. I'm sure movie magic will provide the solution, along with lego surfer-Barbie's hair never being blown out of place.
Barbie, of course, wears a splash of trademark pink on her boardshorts.
