Dark red Ramone has been built for LUGNuts 4th anniversary challenge to the theme - 'Cars Too'. Dark Red Ramone appears in the first 'Cars' movie during a segue discussion between Lightning McQueen and Sally Carrera discussing the introduction of the Interstate Highway bypassing the traditional Route 66 traffic entering Radiator Springs. This would correspond to the early 1960s, based on Ramone being the newest car in the movie, a modified 1959 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe.
To quote Disney/Pixar: " Ramone owns and operates Ramone's House of Body Art, Radiator Springs' custom body and paint shop. Ramone is an artist - a true magician with paint and metal.
There was a time when his only canvas was himself, so he repainted himself daily.
