The BMW '02' Series of 2-door Coupes was the car that cemented BMW's reputation as 'The Ultimate Driving Machine'.
Following on from the earlier '1500' BMW, the '02 created a smaller, nimbler package that appealed to Continental drivers. Such was the appeal of the 2.0 litre 2002, that it even established a cult following in North America, despite being significantly smaller than any domestic competitor.
The '02 can also be seen as the precursor to the standard small-BMW template, the 3-Series.
This particular medium-blue miniland-scale BMW 2002 has been built as a commission for an Engineering coworker, and aptly chosen as my entry for LUGNuts 58th Build Challenge - 'Order by Numbers' - Number #1, 'A Legendary vehicle... in Europe.
