One set that was sure to be rare was Nr. 565 - Moon Landing, from 1975. Containing an Apollo mission 15, 16, 17 landing unit, three astronauts, and the Lunar Rover.

The Lunar Rover was used in the three Apollo Mission 15-17 during 1971-1972. The Lunar Rover is possibly the most expensive 'car' ever built, and the most iconic given how few were ever built.

This Lego model had been created in Lego Digital Designer for Flickr LUGNuts 53rd Build Challenge - "LEGO Set Overhaulin" - celebrating all things Lego with recreations of older sets.

The model has steerable front wheels, independent suspension on all four wheels (by torsion bar method), and is covered in greebley bit representing the various items of scientific equipment attached to the Lunar Rover for its work on the moon. Along with the antenna, various pieces of equipment can be seen exhibiting a gold sheen. On the Lunar Rovers, this was, in fact, gold. Due to the lack of atmosphere, and the effect of the Earth's Van-Allen Belt (held in place by the Earth's magnetic field), which protects life on Earth from the harmful radiation of the sun, the Lunar Astronauts and their equipment were vulnerable to radiation damage. Hence the thin gold foils, protecting both man and machine.
