Jaguars prototypical sports car - the E-Type. Considered one of the sexiest cars of all time, the long, long and slender E-Type marked the high-water mark for Jaguar sportscar design. This provided a hindereance for the company as well, as they have as yet been uable to break away stylistically.

Originally powered by a 3.8 litre variant of the longserving in-line 6-cylinder engine, later variants increased volumetric capacity, and later, used V12s.

Its good looks and high performance mark this as a stand out car, but the latter sixtees marked a change to broader, mid engineed supercars, and the E-type could no longer keep up. A mid-engined sports racing prototype, the XJ13 stalled in development, and Jaguar did not regain its supercar mojo until the late 1980's XJ220.

This model has been created for Flickr LUGNuts 36th Build Challenge - 'LUGNuts Turns Three' and chooses the 32nd Challenge theme 'God Save the Queen' for its UK - designed build theme.
