It seems less of us are inclined these days to wear a 'traditional' watch. Smart watches and phones present this information just as well - and much more besides. "Wrist bling" is being gradually replaced by more functional technology with the result that a traditional timepiece may now be perceived more as an item of jewelry.
I still wear my watch, here seen with a stainless steel braided band. Much easier to clean - and it sparkles!

After thought...........
OK! I've revisited my work here and read the excellent article referenced on the "Macro Mondays" website by Lily Sawyer - "3 Rookie Mistakes to Avoid When Shooting on a White Background" I just wished I read this before tackling the assignment!.................

Hands up! I was guilty of committing all three mistakes here! I've noted this as a reference to myself and to perhaps assist others. I can now see how technically 'poor' the above photo really is and why I struggled so much post processing to achieve something half decent. I needed to endlessly adjust the white balance (battle lost) and understandably was unable to rectify the blown highlights. Yes, it has generated a good response and don't get me wrong - I'm grateful for that, so thanks!
But I'll know what to do next time!

Cosmic Dust
I used a watch last week for 'Jewelry" so I needed to think of something different. Here I was determined to use a fast shutter speed to freeze the grains of sand. The only way I could find to do this, whilst keeping the light as soft as possible, was to use a high ISO (1000) which gave me 3200/sec. Edited in Lightroom.
