Derbyshire Royal Infirmary (former), London Road, Derby.
Foundation stone laid in 1891 by Queen Victoria.
By Hall & Young of London.

The four remaining pavilion hospital buildings with domes (two seen here - two further along the road) are of a debased early English Renaissance/Jacobean style. The arcade linking the buildings has been demolished. Nothing remains of the original infirmary of the early 19th century.

Will this building survive the proposed redevelopment of this site? It is not listed but ought to be.
PS - June 2022 - yes it has.....

Derbyshire Royal Infirmary (former), London Road, Derby, 1971-74.
By Morrison & Partners.
I suspect that the life of this piece of Brutalist architecture is drawing to a close.
