The Church of England Cemetery Company was founded in 1845 to establish a new burial ground for members of the Anglican Church. With the approval of the Bishop of Worcester they decided upon a disused quarry and purchased the land. The cemetery opened in 1848. Sadly, the fine chapel was demolished in 1954. It sustained damage by enemy action in World War ll.
