Before we went away to Venice we watched one of the few films set in Venice I hadn't seen. Nicolas Roeg's 'Don't Look Now'. A classic British Horror/Thriller starring Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland. First set in England it then transfers to Venice as the couple seek to start afresh after the death of their daughter. But all is not what it seems...
So we spent a morning walking the back streets hunting out the locations in the film. This sea gate leading to the Palazzo Grimani at Santa Maria Formosa is where one of the main characters meets his end after a chase across a line of moored Gondola's. He rather shortsightedly closes these gates behind him!
