I've taken many pictures of this tree - the last tree in Lyme Park on the way up to Lyme Cage - but not for some time. This was taken on Monday, a rather cold, frosty but bright day and before the snow arrived. It looks like someone has lost a kite, tangled up in the branches of the tree.

The dining room at Lyme Hall, decorated for their theme of "Animal Crackers". The story behind it is that torrential rain has forced the animals inside, taking over the house, which is usually empty through the winter.

The animals are made by a local artist Sophie Tyrrell.
