Spotted this lovely patch of Harebells beside Burbage Brook on our walk last week.

Carl Wark is the site of an Iron Age hill fort. The hills around there make a great walk - especially when the heather is blooming.

The shot above is the view towards Higger Tor with the rocky edge of Burbage Rocks on the far right. A couple more shots from Carl Wark in the comment below, the first from further along the rocky edge looking towards Higger Tor, the second looking towards Over Owler Tor, where we'd just walked from.

A snowy shot for the shortest day. This was taken last Saturday - before the snow vanished again, for the time being at least. The path ahead goes up Doctor's Gate or alternatively up to Higher Shelf Stones (on the hills, top left). Doctor's Gate was reputed to have been a Roman road - though this is generally disputed now. It heads uphill, eventually crossing the Pennine Way and on to the Snake Pass.

Woodhead Reservoir, taken mid November and full to the top again. The shot in the comment below was taken in August (with my phone) from more or less the same spot - ithe water level was lower then than I'd ever seen it before.

Got our PC back this morning (a custom built desktop, not a laptop) now expensively fixed with a new motherboard and CPU. Fortunately nothing lost - just a few tweaks needed to get everything back to normal, I think - thank goodness! Will attempt to catch up with everyone soon.
