The Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, is believed to symbolise the cycle of life, death and re-birth. This one was wandering round the Medieval Market at Tewkesbury, playing his instrument and collecting money.

Some more shots of the characters at the Medieval Market in the comment below.

I found these almost human looking robots, rather creepy and unnerving and purposely didn't want one of the comment shots below as a lead in my photostream, in case someone thought it portrayed some sort of obscure abuse! If you look at the link, you can see how these human-like robots move, blink, etc.

Exhibit at the temporary exhibition of over 100 robots at Manchester Museum of Science and Industry, which is on until April 2018.

As well as the reenactment of the Battle of Marston Moor, the Sealed Knot had a living history camp, showing all kinds of life from the 17th century. Though this skilled artist uses modern paint for his commissions, he also explained how he had created paint to 17th century recipes, which had required quite a degree of experimentation to perfect. In the shot above he is holding what I think was a flask of linseed oil, whilst explaining his techniques and ingredients for creating paints.

Two more shots are in the comment below, on the first, you can see a portrait of a woman, on the ground behind the artist - this one had been entirely painted with traditional paints. The second is a close up of one of his portraits.

We've seen this guy several times at visits to various jousts, re-enactments, etc. The act name is "What a Palaver" and entails juggling, fire breathing, etc - he is quite an entertainer!

A couple more shots in the comment below - the second was taken at Bolsover Castle, a couple of months ago, where he was fire-breathing while standing on his head!

We visited Blists Hill on the way back from our trip to Warwick and Tewkesbury. It's a lovely, open-air living museum, set in late Victorian times. We were surprised how quiet it was for a summer Sunday. We were also very lucky with the weather - as we set off for the drive home, the black clouds were gathering and we drove most of the way back in thunderstorms with torrential rain!

Some more shots in the comment below.
