A test of my new toy - the OM System 90mm macro lens. I've only had chance to try it out in my garden and think it's going to take a bit of experimentation and practice to get the best out of this lens but I'm happy so far. This plant (Hesperantha coccinea) is still in it's pot from the garden centre, waiting to be planted.

I looked out of my kitchen window, when making lunch to see this cheeky squirrel in the garden. It had managed to knock the bird feeder off it's hook and was pushing it round to get at the seeds. In the shot above, it had finally managed to open the lid to greedily feast on the contents. A wood pigeon and magpie were waiting nearby to see if they could join in the feast.

It was blizzard conditions here last night with very strong gusty winds and plenty of snow. This was our garden arbour and bird feeder first thing! I opened my front door and a small snow drift fell into the hall. It's brightened up considerably now and I hope to be able to get out for a short walk and some more photos this afternoon.

The shot in the comment below is the view down my street. The garage door opposite are black!
