Piazza Grande è il cuore del centro storico di Arezzo.
Venne realizzata nel XIII sec., ma la piazza come la vediamo oggi è il risultato di una profonda trasformazione avvenuta nel XVI sec. con la costruzione delle Logge del Vasari (appena visibili a sinistra nell’immagine) .
Su uno dei lati la Piazza è chiusa da antiche case medioevali, in parte restaurate nel Novecento; in mezzo alle case spicca la Torre Lappoli.

Piazza Grande is the heart of the historic center of Arezzo (Tuscany, Italy).
It was built in XIII sec, but the square as we see now is the result of a deep transformation done on the XVI cent, with the edification of the “Logge del Vasari” (just visible on the left side in the image).
On one of its side, the Piazza is closed by ancient medieval houses, partially restored in the XX cent.; among the houses the Lappoli Tower stands out.

Il Palazzo delle Logge si trova ad Arezzo, nella Piazza Grande; venne costruito a partire dal 1573 su progetto del famoso architetto Giorgio Vasari, a cui è dedicata una statua commemorativa su una parete laterale del palazzo.

Palazzo delle Logge is located in Arezzo (Tuscany, Italy), on a side of Piazza Grande.
It was built starting from 1573 according to the project by the famous architect Giorgio Vasari, to which a memorial statue on a lateral wall of the building is dedicated.

Sulla Piazza si affacciano anche il Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici con il suo campaniletto (XV sec.), il Palazzo del Tribunale e, alla sua sinistra, l’abside della Pieve di S. Maria (XII – XIV sec.).

On the square many other interesting buildings appear: “Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici” with its small bell tower (XV cent.), “Palazzo del Tribunale” and, on its left, the apses of the church “Pieve di S. Maria” (XII – XIV cent.)
