Villa Pallavicino si trova a Stresa, sul Lago Maggiore.
Venne costruita intorno alla metà dell’800 per Ruggero Borghi (amico di Manzoni e Rosmini), in seguito passò ai marchesi Pallavicino che ancora oggi ne detengono la proprietà.
La principale attrattiva della Villa è il parco che la circonda: esteso su una area di circa 20 ettari, comprende numerose piante esotiche, alberi secolari, viali fioriti e un giardino botanico.

Villa Pallavicino is located in Stresa, in Northern Italy (on Maggiore Lake).
It was built around middle of 1800 by Ruggero Borghi, who was friend of Manzoni and Rosmini. Then later it was bought by Pallavicino marquesses who till now have the property.
The villa is surrounded by a wide park with a botanical garden

Il gufo è il più grande rapace notturno d’Europa.
Arboricolo, da un punto di osservazione su un albero lancia il suo attacco ad una preda sul terreno.
Può arrivare ad avere una apertura alare di 1,70m e un peso di 2,5/3 kg, con un corpo alto anche 70cm.
Il gufo non può muovere gli occhi, in compenso però riesce a ruotare la testa di ben 360°. L’esemplare qua fotografato (con la testa leggermente ruotata) si trova nel parco di Villa Pallavicino (Stresa, lago Maggiore).

The owl is the largest european nocturnal bird.
It is an arboreal bird: from its observation point on a tree it launches its attack on a pray on the ground.
It could have 1,70m wing span, 2,5/3 Kg weight and a body tall till to 70 cm.
The owl can not move the eyes, but it can rotate the head of 360°.
