Il campanile dell’Abbazia di Pomposa (Codigoro, Ferrara), ha una altezza di 48 metri. Venne costruito nel 1063 in forme Romanico-Lombarde.
Procedendo dalla base verso la sommità del campanile le finestre aumentano di numero e diventano più ampie seguendo una tendenza classica di quel periodo, che serviva ad alleggerire il peso della torre e a propagare meglio il suono delle campane.
Dal basso verso l'alto sono presenti monofore, bifore, trifore e quadrifore.

The bell tower of the Abbey of Pomposa (Codigoro, Ferrara), has a height of 48 meters. It was built in 1063 in Romanico-Lombarde forms. Proceeding from the base towards the top of the bell tower the windows increase in number and become wider following a classic trend of that period, which served to lighten the weight of the tower and to better propagate the sound of the bells.
From the bottom to the top there are single-lancet windows, mullioned windows, and three-light windows.

Si hanno notizie di un'abbazia benedettina, di dimensioni inferiori a quella attuale, a partire dal IX secolo, ma l'abbazia che noi oggi ammiriamo venne consacrata nel 1026.
Il campanile ha una altezza di 48 metri e venne costruito nel 1063; ha la particolarità che procedendo dalla base verso la sommità del campanile le finestre aumentano di numero e diventano più ampie seguendo una tendenza classica di quel periodo, che serviva ad alleggerire il peso della torre e a propagare meglio il suono delle campane.
L’ abbazia ebbe una grande importanza per la conservazione e la diffusione della cultura durante il Medioevo, grazie ai monaci amanuensi che vi risiedevano.
