Hello my friends top of the morn to ya, Todays painting is called (Envy) and it is one of the Seven deadly sins of the Christian Church. Envy is best defined as an emotion that "occurs when a person lacks another's (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.I think this happens alot to people without them even knowing it,even something as simple as looking at a cool car driving down the road, or so many other simple things,but some people it effects more than others where it becomes a self destructive emotion where envy burns deep down into their soul where it becomes a all consuming force,I don't think I ever had envy of anything that bad , may bee if I was old enough during the time when Joe DiMaggio was married to Marilyn Monroe , I think I would of envied that guy like no other hahah,Bertrand Russell said envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness. It is a universal and most unfortunate aspect of human nature because not only is the envious person rendered unhappy by his envy, but also wishes to inflict misfortune on others.Envy" and "jealousy" are often used interchangeably, I know I have thought like this too,but in correct usage, they stand for two different distinct emotions. In proper usage, jealousy is the fear of losing something that one possesses to another person, while envy is the pain or frustration caused by another person having something that one does not have oneself. Envy typically involves two people, and jealousy typically involves three people. I think there is alot more that can be said about envy ,but I'm getting tired and just looking at that dog outside sleeping I'm finding myself envying him for getting some sleep while I'm here typing, take care steve. p.s.

Hello my friends todays painting is one of the seven deadly sins known as (Wrath) 18x24in.also known as anger or "rage", may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. Anger, in its purest form, presents with self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke feuds that can go on for centuries.or just a few years remember theThe Hatfield–McCoy feud hahaha ? Many people believe if you dont do what is right be prepare to feel Gods wrath, Wrath is the only sin not necessarily associated with selfishness or self-interest (although one can of course be wrathful for selfish reasons, such as jealousy, closely related to the sin of envy).so try and do what is right or you may feel the power of wrath knocking on your door at a unexpected hour. steve p.s. whos there?

Hello my friends todays painting is of something I think we are are guilty of one time or another be it a great meal we didn't want to end or a dessert that made us sing out a tune,and just stuffed ourselfs silly, but when we eat like that more often than not we can be said we are committing Gluttony,and its derived from the Latin gluttire meaning to gulp down or swallow, means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or intoxicants to the point of waste. In some Christian denominations, it is considered one of the seven deadly sins,on a interesting note Gluttony is not universally considered a sin; depending on the culture, it can be seen as either a vice or a sign of status.St. Thomas Aquinas reiterated the list of six ways to commit gluttony:

Praepropere - eating too soon.
Laute - eating too expensively
Nimis - eating too much.
Ardenter - eating too eagerly
Studiose - eating too daintily
Forente - eating wildly, well my friends there you have it,now I feel bad about that strawberry ice cream I'm looking forward to eating tonight,take care and carry a small fork and spoon, steve.18x24in.

Hi everyone hope everything is going well with you all, Todays painting is another one of The Seven Deadly Sins and its name is ( Greed) and its an excessive desire to possess wealth or goods;Greed (Latin, avaritia), also known as avarice or covetousness, is, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess. However, greed (as seen by the church) is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of wealth, status, and power. St. Thomas Aquinas wrote that greed was "a sin against God, just as all mortal sins, in as much as man condemns things eternal for the sake of temporal things." In Dante's Purgatory, the penitents were bound and laid face down on the ground for having concentrated too much on earthly thoughts. some people think greed is good ,that its a necessary evil not only to get along in day to day activities but good in business also,I think there is 4 stages of greed even though I painted this person with a smile on their face that is because they are in the first stage of greed just thinking about what they are going to do for their own gain, but this smile shall soon turn around into a frown and a fiery torment because I have never meet a truly happy greedy person,I think because once and if they get what they wanted thru greed their conscience will tell them what they did was evil and who wants to try and live with that on their head, not me, don't let greed come into your life or you will soon no longer have a smile or true friends ,and that my friends sounds like Hell on earth, take care steve.

Hello my friends todays painting is called (Lust)18x 24in. and its one of the seven deadly sins, also known as the Capital Vices or Cardinal Sins, is a classification of the most objectionable vices that has been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct followers concerning (immoral) fallen humanity's tendency to sin. Lust is harmful to the body, mind and spirit, and it can easily be mistaken for love. Lust has the opposite effect of love. In Dante's Purgatorio, the penitent walks within flames to purge himself of lustful/sexual thoughts and feelings. In Dante's "Inferno", unforgiven souls of the sin of lust are blown about in restless hurricane-like winds symbolic of their own lack of self control to their lustful passions in earthly life. I plan on painting all the seven deadly sins not all in a row but eventually, steve p.s. when a friend saw this painting after looking at it for a while he said ,that face looks like a demon almost like Linda Blair from the The Exorcist,smiling with her tongue sticking a little bit out, I said thats because a person may think at first lust is a thing of romance and beauty, but will soon find out just how ugly and evil it is when it takes over your heart! sleep tight my friends,and clean out your closet. no ,no, not the closet with your clothes in it, the closet inside your heart that you keep closed from everyone around you, you may think its your own personal hiding space that no one can see into, but trust me its not really hidden, but why Am I telling you this? because deep down in that so called hidden closet you know who sees inside.and the name is Lust! isnt it fun talking about the seven deadly sins?until next time I tip my hat and bid you all a fine farewell.
