Seen working 1V18 from Manchester Piccadilly to Swansea crossing the Shropshire Union Canal at Edleston Bridge just outside Nantwich. The Shropshire Union Canal runs from Ellesmere Port on the River Mersey to Autherley Junction, near Wolverhampton, where it meets the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. The Llangollen and Montgomery canals are modern names for two branches of the canal.

The Middlewich Branch connects the Shropshire Union Canal to the Trent and Mersey Canal. With the second connection to Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, the canal is part of the important Four Counties Ring.
