The delince of the small Montana village of Comertown, founded in 1913, began over 100 years ago, not that it was ever much beyond a few buildings and a post office.
The railroad coming through attracted homesteaders and farmers hoping to take advantage of the locality. But the land proved to be too dry for much more than ranching.
Residents began moving away almost immediately. The post office closed in 1957. Today, one or two of the houses are occupied.
The cemetery rests upon the hill beyond town.

Scanned experimental mixed alternative process print.
A multistage process:
1. Wet cyanotype (classic Jacquard sensitizer + H2O and vinegar). Amaryllis petals and starlike petals from a green plant that this week decided to die (I probably killed it with too much water)). Exposed for 15 min in my UV box.
Developed in water and Citric acid + H2O2.
Became a bit "boring" photogram.
Let to dry > 24 h.
2. Hands-on "contouring" with a golden marking pen (Pilot Super Color).
3. Selectively adding a mixture of Argyotype (years old, just wanted to finish it) and Cyantope (Jacquard) sensitizer to the petals with a brush.
4. Overlay with transparencies with ballons and butterfly patterns (which unfortunately didn't become as defined as I wished, that's what you get when using a mixture of different sensitizers you never tried before...).
5. 2nd exposure in my UV box (around 15 min).
6. Rinsing and developing like a cyanotype (H2O+citric acid+H2O2).
All made on an A3+ sheet of handmade Indian cotton paper.
After drying flattened in a Seal Dry Mounting Press.
It was a long time ago since I made an alternative photographic process print. I like the possibilities to put further work into an initial somewhat unsatisfying print.
