This was probably once a really beautiful wicker chair sitting on the wraparound porch of the old house. Now reduced to rusted springs. I just happened to like the old advertising hanger sitting on it!

This old piano left behind in the abandoned old Victorian house has played its last tunes. It was probably about the best thing inside the house, aside from the really great old radiators and beautiful pocket doors and mantels.

I didn't crop this picture at all so you xcould see why Susan and I were joking about contracting some sort of respiratory ailment after our visit. Just look at all the paint chips, cobwebs and other unidentified "stuff"!

This is the stairway to the attic, another one of those wonderful Jersey winder staircases.

This was our entranceway into and out of the old stone house. The next step from here was to ease our way down to an old rusty 55 gallon drum and then jump from there to the ground. The drum didn't look too safe, so the key was to stand on the outer rim of the drum, not the actual top which looked like we could fall through it. We were most concerned about breaking our camera equipment!

Here's Susan making her exit!

Just look at all the layers of chipping, peeling paint around this wonderful old latch. This is from the old stone house, which Susan I both agreed could be ( and should be!) restored by someone... someone with LOTS of time and money... and a much better sense of design than the person that had started renovations there! (see www.flickr.com/photos/captured_echoes for Susan's description of the renovations!)
