" We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming. We cannot stop the spring or the fall or make them other than they are. They are gifts from the universe that we cannot refuse. But we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrives."
~Gary Zukav

Dear Fall,
Stay. Don't go. Don't take your colorful leaves and crisp air and leave us with bare trees and cold, grey days. I am not ready to wear gloves (or have to find 2 matching gloves!), scrape windshields and shovel snow and be COLD.... always cold! Please stay.
Love,
Torrie

And that being said, I know winter will come. Fall will leave. *sigh* OK, you guys, what are we going to do to make winter FUN!! I am open to suggestions!

Waterloo Village takes the visitor through time from a 400-year old Lenape (Delaware) Indian village to a bustling port along the once prosperous Morris Canal. This early 19th-century restored village contains a working mill complex with gristmills and sawmills, a general store, blacksmith shop and several historic houses. This is always a great place to spend the day and particularly pretty now with the colors of fall.

There is a lot of activity in the village now and it looks like there is quite a bit of work going into the restoration. There were far more people working there today than we have seen in previous visits. Good to see!

Yes....
(note to Jon: Look!! It's NOT a horrorscope!!)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Love at first sight might take place for some of you this week because quite literally, it's in the stars. A sudden infatuation with someone younger or artsy and creative might grab you by the throat. Others will have surprise invitations to social events or a quick getaway. Surprising news related to children, and the arrival of a baby, might also be what happens for you. Make sure your laundry and dry cleaning are done so that you are ready to accept all exciting invitations. Don't be caught off guard because your window of opportunity will be brief, which means you have no time to prepare. Be ready for something fun and different that expands your world. A sudden chance for a fun vacation might fall in your lap. ("Should I pack tropical?")

Hmmm..... interesting. My plans for the week.... work Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and then off for the rest of the week. My time off is supposedly to be spent trying to unbury myself from all the crap I have been collecting for years.... so where I am to meet this artsy young guy.... not quite sure... at the dump? A paramedic when I have to call for help to be pulled from under the avalanche of treasures? Who knows

.... but for now... I'm going to go get caught up on laundry.... and then I am going to pack. I'm packing two bags....one to go tropical and the other to go arctic! Hey....you don't have to tell me twice! Fun? Sounds awesome!!!

(lol!! yeah...right...)

The bridge I won't cross (not only because the park service has it closed off) ... It's an issue of trust. I don't trust that it has the integrity to support me to get to the other side. A while back I would have given it a go. Not today.

A series with sole.

I guess that means I'll have to complete the set by adding winter (oh God no!!!) and Spring (if I survive winter!)
Got some time in at Waterloo Village before it started to rain. I was afraid that once the rain started there would be no leaves left on the trees. Katie and I had a nice afternoon there until we were starving and had to go find something to eat. That seems to be a recurring problem. We need to remember to pack food. And then I came home and Meeko chewed the shoelaces off of these boots. *sigh*
