Brig Niagara racing to Chicago, at this point, Niagara was neck & neck with Pride of Baltimore for the lead. I love that 15 star flag! Some parts of this ship are original to when Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry sent his famous dispatch (written aboard) "We have met the enemy and they are ours..." Scuttled after the war, raised and restored, derelict and restored again, this ship is now a museum ship..
