Frazer Metro by Tickford (1981) Engine 1295cc S4
Number 16 (of 26)
Registration Number YLB 632 X

The cars started life as standard BL Metro 1300s with a tuned head the cars were customised by Frazer (no relation to Frazer Nash) with tuning by Aston Martin Tickford which included engine polished and ported a stiffer Aston Martin handling pack, front and rear anti-roll bars. Initially cars were priced at £ 12,000 UK

The interior included standard Connolly leather of any colour throughout , dashboard, steering wheel, headlining, parcel shelf,, with fitted Wilton carpet, the luxury items became an option on later cars from the unique wheels to the leather trimmings. Other items included Air Conditioning, internal tailgate release, alarm, electric steel or glass sunroof, cruise control, rear spoiler, electric door mirrors nd the choice of either wool or leather headlining and sun-visors. Cruise Control was standard. The cars dashboard was unique along with a powerful stereo system and body kit

They were also available in the States via the sole importer based in Beverly Hills, for a list price of $ 30,000 although there seems to have been only 3 LHD cars built 2 of which have now returned to the UK

It is also likely that only 20 of the numbered 26 were built. The most popular colour was Silver but it was available in the customers choice of colour. All cars carry a numbered Frazer badge.

Later on the Tickford Styling Boutique offered conversion kits for MG Metros in both normally aspirated and Turbo form from £ 625 + VAT a painted rear spoiler for £ 68 + VAT and body coloured wheels at £ 82.50 + VAT

Many thanks for a fantabulous
