Manufactured in kit form in 1958 and supplied to Frank Collins for £425. Built up in just 30 days in his garage at his home with no power or lighting. Registered 18th November 1958, used as a road car throughout the week and raced at weekends including being part of the original Fairthorpe works team. The car was sold on in 1963. After many years in 1987 Frank and his son Martin who by this time were restoring Fairthorpe happened upon a chance meeting with a fellow enthusiast who had just purchased the car, after much persuasion Martin was able to purchase the car with its original number plate in 1989. After an initial start at restoration the project had to be put on hold but a rash promise in April 2009 by Martin to his father that he would restore the car in time for the Silverstone 2009 Classic, in just 14 weeks. This was achieved and the car also completed the Retro Run to the circuit, for the 2010 Silverstone Classic.
