Buick is currently Americas oldest automotive brand, Established by Scots born David Dunbar Buick as the Buick Motor Company in Detroit 1903. Later that year the company was taken over by James h Whiting who moved it to his hometown of Flint Michigan and brought in William C Durant as his manager. The first Buick made for sale came in 1904
Durant was a natural promoter and Buick soon became America leading car producer. With the profits Durant embarked on a series of amalgamations leading to the General Motors conglomerate. Positioning the companies in layers with Cadillac as the prestige brand followed by Buick and then the other companies.
This car was offered for auction at the H historics Auction, at Brooklands 27.02.2011, by a film company having been used in the film Captain America.

Introduced under Buicks catchy slogan, 'When Better Cars Are Built, Buick Will Build Them'. Buick had been founded in 1903 by David Dunbar Buick who invented its overhead valve engine which made Buick cars famous, by 1918 the company President was former locomotive engineer Walter P. Chrysler.
In standard specification the E49 series built with a 149 inch wheelbase and powered by a six cyliner OHV engine of 241.6 cu in (3949cc) with 4 main bearings and a Marvel carburettor, driving thriugh a three sped transmission, with an output of 60 bhp, the car weighed in at 3,175 lbs and cost $ 1,495

During the second timed run the Buick threw a tyre, damaging a road wheel and rear wing. Normally Roger drives the Buick on the road and to events and we will soon see them back in action.
