Leon Lefevbre started car production in 1899 with a range of high built belt driven racing cars the largest being a 11,699cc monster. Chain drive came in 1901, and by 1902 the Bolides were conventional design cars with vertical engines of various proprietary makes.
Lefevbre left the company in around 1906 and went on to form Prima from 1906.
The last new Bolide was a six cylinder shown at the Paris Salon in December 1906.
