Brasier was a French automobile manufacturer, based in the Inry near Paris, founded in 1905 by Charles-Henri Brasier and Georges Richard, originally as Richard-Brasier .Brasier had previously worked for both Panhard and Mors before deciding at 35 years of age to set up his own business.
By 1905 the two partners were in dispute and Georges Richard left to establish his own company, Unic.
Brasier retained the Ivry premises, renaming the company simply Brasier. By 1914 production was running at around 1000 vehicles per year. Production resumed after the war, and the company set up a prestige showroom, on the fashionable ChampsElysees. But by 1924 sales were being eroded by its competitors, in response by 1926 by which time the company name had changed to Chaigneau-Brasier. more luxurious and innovative models were launched, including a four wheel drive model. For 1930 an even larger and more expensive model was launched, but the effects of the 1929 Wall Street Crash were being felt, the new car was still in prototype stage, and though it attracted a lot of interest, orders were not forthcoming. The company was felling acute financial pressure, relieved somewhat from an injection of capitol from Delahaye who were at this time still short of capacity themselves, and were able to transfer some truck production to the Chaigneau-Brasier plant. Chaigneau-Brasier were therefore able to survive, but only till 1930 or 1931

Léon Théry entered a Brasier in the 1908 French Grand Prix, but retired on lap 9 of the 10 lap race.
