A.W.Z. P70 (1955-59) Engine 684cc Twin 2 stroke
Production 36,151
The AWZ P70 Zwickau; was a car produced by EB Automobilwerke Zwickau (AWZ) in East Germany.. It succeeded the IFA F8 using the same 684 cc two cylinder, two-stroke engine but with a new Duroplast body. Introduced in 1955 as a Saloon, the range was expanded for 1956 with the addition of an Estate version and again in 1957 with this rather attractive Coupe, looking very much like the Nissan Figaro of the early 1980s.
In 1958 AWZ was united with the former Horch factory to become the VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau and the AWZ P70 became the Sachsenring P70. (This car bears the AWZ badge).
The P70 was replaced in 1959 by the P50 Trabant
Many thanks for a fantabulous
