Aldon AL3 (c.(1970) Engine 1600 tc Lotus S4
Entry 94 Alan Goodwin

Originally built and designed by Alan Goodwin and and Don McLoughlin as one of the first monocooque chassis', and designed to adapt to a number of engines, to run in various formula.

It first used a BMC1300 engine and ran in the F100 Sport car series, results included second place in the Thruxton 6 hour relay.

It was later sold and converted to a Group 5 car with a 1300cc Cosworth FVA unit, racing in the 1972/3 Motoring News/Esso championship winning the 1300 class and 2nd overall both years

It later went to the US competing at Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen and Virginia raceway winning the SCCA 1600cc class and numerous other races.

In 2008 Alan Goodwin bought it, and returned the car to the UK with the winning 1600 Lotus T/C engine and converted it to run in the HSA and Midland Hillclimb Championship
