The basic body shape shared by all models was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone. All models feature the four cylinder, all-light-alloy Alfa Romeo Twin Cam engine in various cubic capacities from 1290 cc to 1962 cc, all with two valves per cylinder. All versions of this engine fitted to the 105 series coupes featured twin carburettors, except for US market. The GT Junior range featured the smaller engines of 1300 and 1600. Junior models began with the first GT 1300 Junior in 1966. The GT 1300 Junior continued until 1976 with the 1290 cc engine and various modifications incorporating features from the evolution of the GT's and GTV's. From 1972 a GT 1600 Junior model was also available, with the 1570 cc engine.

The Series 2 Spider was introduced in 1970, with the distinctive long rounded tail altered to a more conventional Kamm tail, improving luggage space. Other changes included a slightly different grille, new door handles and a more raked wind screen.
1971 saw the Spider Veloce get a new, larger powerplant - a 1962 cc, 132 hp (98 kW) unit - and consequently the name was changed from 1750 Spider Veloce to 2000 Spider Veloce.
The 1300cc cars were modified in 1974 to include two small rear seats and the 2000cc received the same modification in 1975

Alfa Romeo GTV6 (1980-87) Engine 1962cc S4

The Alfetta saloon was the base for the Alfetta GT, a 2-door, 4-seater fastback coupé designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign. Introduced in 1974, initially available only with the 1.8-litre (1,779 cc) version of the Alfa DOHC four. For 1976 the Alfetta GT became a range; the 1.8 was discontinued in favour of the 1.6-litre (1,570 cc) and a 2 litre (1962cc)

In 1980, the GT received a restyling. Outside there were new one-piece tail lights, grey plastic bumpers, C-pillar vents and side skirts; all bright stainless steel save for the Alfa Romeo triangular grille was changed to matte-black trim. The 1.6-litre version was discontinued and the Alfetta GTV became known simply as Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 the Alfetta name was dropped, but the two-litre coupé retained its type designation of 11636 for left-hand drive and 11637 for right-hand drive. 15-inch disc-shaped alloy wheels were now standard, as opposed to the earlier cars' 14-inch pressed steel or optional 14-inch alloy.. Later in the same year the GTV (2 litre) was joined by the GTV6 with the SOHC V6 2.5 L engine

Audi A3 (1st Gen Type 8L) (1999-2003) Engine 1781cc 20v Turbo S4
Registration Number X 336 JLU (London NW)
AUDI Album
www.flickr.com/photos/45676495@N05/albums/72157623635550501

The Audi S3 is a hot hatch version of the Audi A3 small family car, produced so far over four generations from 1999-2024

The first generation S3 was introduced in 1999, built on the same A platform of the Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf Mk4, Audi TT, SEAT León and Škoda Octavia. The straight-4 20v 1.8 L turbocharged petrol engine comes in two versions of power output: 210 PS (207hp) and 225 PS (222hp). Early models up to 2001 were powered by the 210PS (207hp) which is said to be a de-tuned Audi TT engine, and was said to be reduced to lessen brand competition with the more powerful TT. Later models (2001–2003) had variable valve timing and 225 PS (222hp)

Although dubbed quattro, the S3 uses a different, on demand, four-wheel drive system. The Haldex Traction coupling adjusts the bias of torque distribution from the front to rear axle as grip requirements change which for the majority of the time sees the vehicle operating as front wheel drive only. The S3 was facelifted in 2000, where it was given one-piece headlights/indicator units, different front wings, rear lights clusters, and some minor upgrades to interior trim. There had been minor changes to the design previous to this, including digital clock on the dash.

The first generation S3 was replaced with a second generation for the 2006 model year
