North Lake September 27, 2024.
If you're not fond of narrow dirt roads cut into a very steep hillside with an 800-foot dropoff, you won't want to drive the access road to get here. We had to get around a driver who was apparently frozen with fear. When the vehicle reached the lake, the pasenger was driving!

Going uphill direction is the worst, since your car is on the dropoff side when passing other vehicles. Some of the oncoming vehicles don't slow down much, expecting everyone to get out of their way, apparently completely oblivious of the fact that uphill traffic has the right of way. And the road is in worse shape than we've noticed in prior years, with more erosion on the dropoff side.

Wat Phutthaisawan is situated on the south bank of Chao Phraya River. The temple was built in 1353. The main prang (Khmer style pagoda) of this temple is surrounded by a square cloister. The inner wall of the cloister houses rows of golden Sukhothai Buddha images.

Wat Phutthaisawan (also spelled as Phutthai Sawan or Buddhaisawan) was one of the temples that survived the destruction during the second fall of Ayutthaya in 1767 (The Burmese–Siamese War of 1765–1767)
