I took this closeup shot of a three-horned lizard on my recent trip to Maui, Hawaii. I came across this lizard sitting on a wall at Maui's Agricultural Station near Kula. The staton also has extensive flower gardens. A passerby suggested that this lizard was a chameleon. If anyone can confirm the species, please contact me. Thanks. I took this photo of a second Jackson's Chameleon on a wall outside the University of Maui's Agricultural Research Station just after I took a picture of a smaller one further down on the same wall. This larger one was determined to chase the smaller one off the wall. I tracked its progess as it moved steadily along the wall. At one point it paused and turned directly to look me in the eyes and that is when I took this shot. The photo was taken in March 2011, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

I wish that I could say that I trekked across miles of marshland, stood knee deep in muddy pond water, and fought off swarms of biting insects to take this shot, but intellectual and artistic honesty forces me to admit that I took this shot in the Vancouver Aquarium's Frog Gallery. Normally, I don't take many shots in aquariums because of poor light and unfavourable conditions. However, I haven't visited the aquarium for many years and over the holidays we took a friend to see it. Of course, I couldn't resist the opportunity to take a few shots and experiment with the conditions. The photo was taken in December 2011, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

This is a photo of a little tree frog sitting on a blackberry leaf. Usually the frogs are bright green in color making them extremely difficult to spot, but sometimes you come across a brown one. You can get some idea of how small this tree frog is by comparing it to the thorns of the blackberry bush. Typically, you do not see too many tree frogs around here, but I came across a large number in a consevation area north of Vancouver. This photo was taken in August 2012, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
