For our vacation, my wife and I went on a wine tour of the Okanagan Valley We started at Osoyoos and worked our way northwards to Kelowna. We visited many vineyards, met interesting wine makers, and sampled some wonderful wines. Of course, I took a few snaps along the way. :) Many of the vineyard owners are quite friendly and welcome photographers. This is where wine begins, with the grapes. I rather like the tones and bokeh in this shot. The photo was taken in August 2015, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
P.S. Slowly catching up.

This is a photo of the Blue Mountain Vineyard I took on our wine tour of the Okanagan Valley last summer. There are over 200 wineries in the valley. In the shot, I am standing on a small rise overlooking the vineyards facing south. In the distance, you can just see the edge of Lake Vaseux. The conditions were hot and hazy when I took this shot. The tasting rooms are just outside the photo to the left and well worth a visit. We spent some time sampling their fine wines and exploring the beautiful vinyard. The photo was taken in August 2013, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

I took this shot on our summer wine tour of the Okanagan Valley. We sampled some excellent wines and walked through the vineyards. Evidently, this has been a very good season for wine grapes, and some of the vineyards have had a particularly early "crush." The photo was taken in August 2013, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

During our recent wine tour of the Okanagan Valley, we visited quite a few vineyards. One of our favourites is Blue Mountain. Not only do they make excellent wine, but its vineyard is quite picturesque. I particularly like the rolling fields of grapes leading into the lake.If you look closely, you will see white netting over the tops of some of the vines stretching to the ground. This is to protect the grapes from hungry birds. Some vineyards employ black netting that covers only the lower portion of the vines where most of the grapes are located. During our tour, we also had to contend with smoke from the huge fires on the American side of the border more than 100 kilometres away. As a result, some of my landscape shots may look a bit hazy. The photo was take in August 2015, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

The Okanagan Valley is not only famous for its many vineyards and terrific wine, but also for its extensive orchards including apple, peach, pear, and cherry. The peaches are a particular favourite of mine. :) This is a photo of some recently picked peaches. It was taken in August 2015, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
