I came across this pretty passion flower in an upcountry garden outside Kula. It was a difficult shot because the flower was heavily shaded by over hanging trees and the light was so poor. However, the flower was so beautiful that I could not resist photographing it. Although the photo is a bit "noisy," I rather like the overall effect. I came across this interesting flower in a large upcountry garden outside Kula. I found this bloom growing in a small tree. I have seen long strings of these lovely flowers hanging from fair-sized trees elsewhere on the island. The photo was taken in March 2015, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

Towards the end of our stay, we had unsettled weather and a few showers. Usually, they do not last very long and most people do not bother about rain gear. I came across this lovely jade in a small garden outside the island winery. Although it was a little wet, a little wine tasting and splendid subjects to photograph made me forget about the brief shower. :) The photo was taken in March 2015, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Here is another shot from the vast protea gardens of the Agricultural Research Station near Kula. For anyone wishing to photograph Maui's beautiful proteas, this is definitely the best spot on the island. The gardens are extensive and quite varied, and the staff friendly and helpful. The photo was taken in February 2015, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy!
