I photographed this noble raptor during a visit to the Pacific Northwest Raptor Centre. The centre supports and cares for a large number of birds from many different species. Some are eventually reintegrated into the wild, some participate in various education programs, and some of the birds are employed at airports etc to keep runways clear. The photo was taken in August 2017, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

This is a photo of an America Kestrel. Although it is inherently cute, it is actually an efficient and deadly predator of mice and smaller prey. The American kestrel is one of the smallest varieties of falcon. I took this shot during my visit the Northwest Raptor Centre, just outside Duncan. The photo was taken in August 2017, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

I photographed this harris falcon during my visit to the wonderful Pacific Northwest Raptor Centre on Vancouver Island. This predator flew right past me as I took the shot. :) I usually take this kind of shot with my 300 mm, but it was not working properly so I used my 200 mm. It provides more depth in the background(I prefer "flatter" backgrounds), but it allows for more light and is easier to focus. Let me know what your think. Native to North America and the Pacific Northwest, this owl is a resident of the Pacific Northwest Raptor Centre, which is situated in the Comox Valley near Duncan.
