I recently purchased a book on flash photography and have also bought a stand for the flash "which arrived this week"
This is my first attempt at using the flash.
So any advice on things I should have done or whether this exposure is under or over or just pants and all wrong.
This lighting is apparently called split light according to the book.I am going to try and replicate the different types of lighting that is shown in the book with the notion that some of the info may sink in.

I only have the one flash so we shall have to see what happens.
I have no modifiers only the soiffen thing.

This image was taken with flash to side in manual "bare"1/32 I think.
Camera on manual //40 @f8 iso 400
