The most overshot locale for these detours has definately been Rondout...but go figure there was still one angle that I did not have....

Here's today's (8/10/08) 738 detour with ICE 6458 and two other blue and yellow units storming over the EJE crossing at Rondout...I don't think this will ever grow old....

As I scurried down to Grand/Cicero to shoot the 738 train that beat me to Forest Glen I heard on the scanner that the Elgin Sub dispatcher was giving ICE 6213 a lineup from 3 to 2 main, 2 main to Tower A-5 and then clearance up on the C&M side....

As I dodged the weekend drivers in Chicago I managed to beat this northbound 739 detour to Forest Glen...he was held up at Mayfair (CY) by a westbound scoot...but as timing would have it the clouds would prevail here at Forest Glen...so be it...its the only northbound detour I've shot on the C&M south of A-20....

How bout that...my first railroad related picture in over two weeks....

On August 8, 2008 an ICE Detour (Symboled 738) coasts up the hill between Edgebrook and Forest Glen on the C&M Sub...this train is going to Kansas City (MSPKC) and therefore has not transfered onto UP rails at Shermer and will instead take the Elgin Sub westbound at Tower A-5....

Big thanks to Jeff Easton and Charles Heraver for getting my ass out of bed....

A huge thank you goes out to Jerry Krug and Jeff Easton for this shot....

I scurried trackside with my brother after I heard this guy was just south of Rondout and beat him to Demstper St in Des Plaines, IL by about 10 minutes....

This is a wonderful 738 detour train on the UP's New Line...ICE is detouring (yet again) over CP due to only minor issues along their own route between Marquette and Dubuque....

Thanks again guys!
