Alright...try and follow along....
We are in the Woodside neighborhood in Queens which is one of the five boroughs of New York City in the state of New York...got it?
What's more important is we are watching a Long Island Railroad commuter train fly eastbound through the station at Woodside (with Manhattan's Lower East Side as the backdrop) and my vantage point is courtesy of the "7" train's (IRT Flushing Line) station platform at 61st Street-Woodside....
Any questions?

If you like commuter railroading...Secaucus Junction is the place for you...not pictured but behind me is Amtrak's Northeast Corridor (Amtrak and NJ Transit use this line out of Penn Station) west from Penn Station in Manhattan towards Newark, NJ, Philidelphia, PA and Baltimore, MD...the mainline pictured above is the main from Hoboken, NJ (NJT and Metro-North make appearances although all trains are operated by NJ Transit) towards places such as Suffern, NJ and Port Jervis, NY....
Secaucus makes for an interesting mix as the Northeast Corridor is all electrified while the Hoboken main is all diesel powered....
Pictured is inbound train 1160 from Suffern, NJ...in a short 12 minutes he'll arrive the DL&W terminal at Hoboken, NJ....
