The epitaph reads:-
"Near this place lyeth the Body
of ARTHUR WINSLEY Esq.
An Alderman of this town, and a Justice of the Peace for the County
He was the Founder, and Endower
of Twelve Charity Houses in St Botolph's Parish
and Dyed on the 30th of January A.D. 1726/7."
