Scan of a slide taken from a stopper to Harrogate in 1991: I believe Cattal station is largely unchanged as at the date of uploading this slide (13/03/12).

Scan of a slide taken 19/02/91: Ten and a half miles from York on the Harrogate Line, Cattal station serves the village of the same name. The following is an interesting item I've picked up from the Wikipedia entry about the Harrogate line:

"In July 2011, Harrogate Chamber of Commerce proposed to electrify the line with third-rail, using D Stock of the London Underground, in order to substantially increase capacity. The D stock's replacement by S Stock on the District Line in 2015 will make them available for other locations (they are not yet life-expired, having been built in 1980-83). It is proposed that the stock will be converted to use the bottom-contact third rail system.] Several new stations have also been proposed."

Scan of a slide taken 19/02/91: Of course, this sign may still be there, but I've not been to Harrogate for 20 odd years. By the way I really cannot remember the Yorkshire sky being that blue, but my scanner tends to either white out the sky or, as here, veer to an intense azure.
