Taken 26/06/24 between New Milton and Hinton Admiral.
Taken on 09/07/24 and a bit of a battle with the camera on a grey and wet day, but at 800 ISO and 1/500th and then, unusually for me, a tweak in Morvavi, I guess I've just about got away with it.
'Clan Lane' was working a steam special to mark the anniversary of the end of steam on the southern Region (9th July 1967) and had reached Waterloo via Yeovil but the return leg was through Hinton, my local station.

15/08/24; a few changes to the DCE this time in that the the down working was headed by the diesel with the steam loco tailing. This meant the Black Five would be the train engine on the return working (typical then that I was busy in the evening). The more familiar pattern is for the down leg to be steam hauled, with the diesel then acting as the train engine on the return leg as far as Southampton.
