Scan of a slide taken in 1997 at the 1997 Amberley (Leyland Titan) Bus Rally.

Hopefully I will find a decent snap of this bus in this box of slides, it is a classic and Glasgow's distinctive livery is something a southerner like myself only sees on rare occasions.

Scan of a slide taken sometime in 1997; I've no notes from my solitary visit to Amberley back in 1997 (the kids were 5 and 2 so time for niceties was at a premium). With a bit of retro fitting I assume the theme of the 1997 Amberley Bus Rally was the 50th anniversary of the Leyland Titan.

UF 4813 is preserved Southdown 1929 Leyland Titan TD1/Brush No. 813.
UF 7428: is preserved Southdown 1931 Leyland TD1-/Short Bros No. 928.
I've yet to identify the vehicle furthest from the camera.

Scan of a slide taken at the 1997 Amberley Bus Rally and, I feel, further proof this was themed around the 50th anniversary of the Leyland Tiger This example dating from 1929 and having made it to Sussex from the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum in North Hykeham, Lincoln.
Whilst on the subject of museums, at the time of my visit I recall this site was the Amberley Chalk Pits Museum, but it now seems to be known as the Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre. Good old Wiki helps out; ".The museum was founded in 1978 by the Southern Industrial History Centre Trust and has previously been known as the Amberley Working Museum, Amberley Chalk Pits Museum, and Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre".
