High Marnham; 56007 waits to enter the Power Station complex with a load of Nottinghamshire coal, 14.05.79.
This is the first scan I've done of some old Ektachromes and as such is a bit of a test - all criticisms very welcome on any aspect such as degree of sharpening, colour tones, whatever!

The transition from 47 to 56 on mgr's, with 47176 leaving the Power Station sidings with empties as 56007 waits to enter, 14.05.79.
A good coat of Shirebrook weathering on these and the other locos in these pictures!

Taken a little west of the Power Station, with 47275 shortly to deliver another load, 14.05.79. Anyone looking at the Flickr map should be aware that the road marked to the west of here is actually an underpass, and not as shown.
Note the excellent condition of the track and embankment on this freight only line back in the 70's!

Again just west of the Power Station, this train of minfits has come along the LD&EC from Lincoln, crossing the Trent on Fledborough viaduct a mile or two east of here, 14.05.79
A year or so later this through route closed following a derailment east of the Trent, such that it was deemed uneconomic to repair the track.
The train may well be returning from Immingham, having deposited coal for export, and be heading for the sidings at Clipstone, just outside Mansfield.
