The link to the BR ECML remains open to the present day, and is regularly used by visiting locos to the NVR.
I believe we are standing on the overbridge carrying London Road (presumably the old A15) on the south side of Peterborough.
There may be more of this day to come.

At least I think this is Yarwell, at the time recently opened at the end of the line west from Wansford (if I'm wrong please do comment).

In April 2006, the EMRPS hosted a charter at the Nene Valley with privately owned 56057. This was organised very effectively (as ever) by Jason Cross, to whom many thanks.
Although it had dawned cloudy, we were fortunate in having a lovely Spring day, and here the train is seen at the start in the station at Wansford.
These are all scanned Provia 100 slides.

A further set of scans from this Charter in 2006, organised by Jason Cross and the EMRPS (East Midlands Railway Photographic Society).
Here our train of Permanent Way vehicles is seen on the bridge over the River Nene, just to the east of Wansford station.
I think this is the last of a set of uploads from the Spring of 2006, being a selection from three boxes of slides picked at random!
